I was born during the disco years underneath the deep Guatemalan sky, but grew up jumping about between Guatemala, Panama, the United States, later London and now Berlin.
My father worked for multi national companies, which was the main reason for my initial globetrotting. But I always saw it as a mission: I thought I had misplaced a little yarn of magic somewhere along the way, which I always nurtured as a child. It’s like I was picking up clues as to its whereabouts.
The result of all this exploration was a life of endless word slinging, compulsive reading and boundless dreaming.
These are the facets of ‘me’ that developed the most throughout those years of going to university, of working, as a translator, as an English teacher, in the service industry, in film, of leaving home and starting over and over and over again.
I write about random thoughts, dreams or memories that come to my head. Some, I manage to catch and follow as a thread. Others escape or linger there refusing to move forward. I think my writing is an attempt at knitting these threads together, reinforcing that magic I thought I lost as a kid but later realized was simply scattered inside me.
